CARD 2 - Anna Griffin GIRL card

YOU WILL NEED
Cream A5 card folded in half, A4 flat piece of cream card, A6 piece of gold card, 0.5 metre of 12mm wide cream satin ribbon, single hole punch, double sided tape or glue, 3D double sided sticky foam pads, Pink and Gold Anna Griffin stamp pads, Craft knife ruler and cutting mat, Pencil, Anna Griffin rubber stamps: Floral & Scrolls 580K18, Ribbon & Roses Cartouche 580K07, Embellished Victorian Alphabet 2486P

WHAT DO YOU DO?

  • Stamp the Floral & Scrolls background in pink to cover at least an A6 area of the A4 cream card. Cut a rectangle from this 127mm x 100mm. Stick this onto the centre of the A6 gold card and trim around the edge leaving a 1mm border all round. Stick this onto the front of the folded A5 cream card.
  • Stamp the Ribbon & Roses in pink on the remains of the cream A4 card and cut around the outside edge. On both of the short edges measure 35mm from the top and bottom 10mm in from the side. Cut or punch a hole on each of the four places you have marked to take the ribbon.
  • Push one end of the ribbon through one of the holes from the front of the card (leaving an end around 50mm long on the front of the card) and push it back up the other hole. Push the end back through the first hole and back up through the second hole adjust to look right and then trim both ends at an angle. Repeat on the other side of the card. Attach this card to the middle of the card front using 3D foam pads.
  • Use the Alphabet stamps to stamp the word GIRL in gold on a bit of the remaining A4 cream card. Trim it out and use the gold stamp pad to tint the edges of the cut out card. Attach to the centre of the card using 3D foam pads.

Make the card in blue if the baby is a boy, stamp a name or a greeting to adapt this design for other occasions.

CARD 4 - Anna Griffin Embossed Lilac Rose Card

YOU WILL NEED
Lilac parchment card size 210mm x 165mm, plain lilac card and darker plain lilac card both around 100mm square, 1 sheet A5 silver paper, 1 metre lilac organza ribbon, Anna Griffin brass template Roses & Scallops 5815S, Greetings set of sentiments 2480R, silver stamp pad, deckle edge scissors, small hole punch, embossing stylus, light box, double sided tape (or glue) craft knife, ruler, cutting mat, pencil

WHAT DO YOU DO?

  • Measure the long sides of the Lilac parchment card into thirds (70mm each), score down the card and fold it into these thirds. Measure 82mm down from the top on each on the outside short edges and cut the corners off the two outside thirds running from the centre marks you made up to the top of the fold of the centre third.
  • Cut 2 strips 10mm wide and 140mm long from the silver paper and using the scalloped pattern on the brass stencil emboss a border along the length of both strips. Place your lilac parchment card face down and run double sided tape or glue along the 2 diagonal cut edges. Stick the strips of embossed silver paper along the these 2 edges and trim at the fold and outside vertical edge of the card.
  • Cut a piece of the plain lilac card 50mm x 65mm. Emboss the rose motif using the brass stencil on the centre of this card and emboss a straight line border around the 4 edges. Stick this motif onto the darker lilac card and trim this leaving a 1mm border around the motif. Repeat this process with the silver paper and finally stick the layered result onto the top of the inside centre third of your card.
  • Cut a rectangle 15mm x 50mm from the plain lilac card and stamp your sentiment centrally on this in silver. Stick this onto the silver paper and using the deckle scissors, trim round the card leaving a border of around 2mm. Punch a small hole in one end and thread the lilac ribbon through so the little tag is in the centre of the ribbon. Wrap the ribbon around the card and secure in a bow.

WHAT DO YOU DO?

  • Stamp the Frieze background in blue to cover at least an A6 area of the A4 cream card. Cut a rectangle from this 127mm x 100mm. Stick this onto the centre of the A6 silver card and trim around the edge leaving a 1mm border all round. Stick this onto the front of the folded A5 cream card.
  • Stamp the Ribbon & Roses in blue on the remains of the cream A4 card and cut around the outside edge.
  • Find the middle of the ribbon and make 2 pleats each side of this middle, the first 55mm long and the second 62mm long. Fold the loose ends back out behind the pleats and trim cutting a v into each end. Stick a strip of double sided tape along the ribbon to secure the pleats and stick it across the middle of the Ribbon & Roses stamped card.
  • Cut out a rectangle 70mm x 50mm from the remaining piece of the A4 cream card and stamp the Rose onto the centre in sliver. Use the silver stamp pad to tint the edges of the cut out card and attach to the centre of the card on top of the ribbon using 3D foam pads.
  • Finally cut a small rectangle 55mm x 17mm from the remaining cream card and stamp your greeting on it in silver (we used the Fiskars Heritage 3-in-1 corner punch to shape each end). Attach this at an angle across the bottom right hand corner of the front of your card using 3D foam pads.

WHAT DO YOU DO?

  • Cut a rectangle from the burgundy card size 14cms x 6cms. Stick it onto the silver card and trim the silver card leaving about a 2mm silver border all round the burgundy. Stick this centrally on the front of the folded white card.
  • Weave the black and white strips of paper together alternately to create a chequerboard pattern. Stick double sided tape around the edges on the back of the chequer board. Trim edges if necessary.
  • Stick the chequerboard onto silver card and trim the silver card to leave a 2mm border all round. Attach the chequerboard to the top of the burgundy rectangle on the front of the card.
  • Cut 12 little red circles and 12 white from the little squares of card (the easiest way to do this is with a 1/8th inch circle punch). Stick some of these on the black squares of the chequerboard and some below on the burgundy background to make it look like a game of draughts in progress.
  • Finish with a peel off greeting at the base of the burgundy card.

You can make this design bigger like our second example and make a magnetic game you can play.. Put a square of thin steel behind the chequerboard and small squares of self adhesive magnet behind each of the red and white playing pieces. Make a little envelope to stick on the front of the card to hold the loose playing pieces.
